The e-Invoice guidelines and specific regulations were updated on June 28, 2024, replacing the previous versions from April 6, 2024.

The e-Invoice exemption list now includes:
Contract values for trading securities on or off a Malaysian stock or derivative exchange.
Disposal of shares of companies incorporated inside or outside Malaysia and not listed on the stock exchange, unless the disposer is a company, limited liability partnership, trust body, or cooperative society.
The MyInvois Portal now shows which fields are mandatory and which are optional for taxpayers when issuing an e-Invoice.
A concession is provided until further notice, allowing suppliers or buyers to share either a validated e-Invoice or a visual representation of it.
e-Invoices submitted through the MyInvois system are now validated and assigned a specific status.

The circumstances under which suppliers can consolidate self-billed e-Invoices now include claim, compensation, or benefit payments from an insurer's insurance business to individuals not engaged in business.
Likewise, the conditions allowing buyers to issue self-billed e-Invoices have been expanded to cover claim, compensation, or benefit payments from an insurer's insurance business to individuals not conducting a business.
