  • Foreign employees: Participation remains compulsory.

Opt-out deadline:

Employees who wish to opt out must submit the Notice of Release of Liability between 13 July 2026 and 31 August 2026. If no notice is submitted by 31 August 2026, the employee will be deemed to continue participating in the scheme.

How to opt out:

The process takes only a few minutes:
  1. Visit https://lindungfaedah.perkeso.gov.my

  2. Register or log in to the portal.

  3. Select “I choose not to participate.”

  4. Confirm and submit the declaration.

  5. Download the Notice of Release of Liability and keep a copy. PERKESO also recommends providing a signed copy to your employer for record purposes.

Reminder for Employers:

Employers should:

  • Inform Malaysian employees that participation is now voluntary.

  • Allow employees to make their own decision.

  • Keep a copy of any signed Notice of Release of Liability submitted by employees for record purposes.
