Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The FAQ will help you understand eligibility, how to view your status, and what to do if you are marked Non‑Compliant.
What is the Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)?
TCC is a prerequisite document that must be submitted by taxpayers/bidders when applying for Government procurement.
Who issues the TCC?
The TCC is issued by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM), the implementing agency responsible for TCC issuance.
How do I apply to LHDNM for a TCC?
No application is required. TCCs are issued automatically to all taxpayers who carry on a business. Taxpayers/bidders can self‑check their TCC under Status MyTax in the MyTax Portal.
How do I check my TCC in the MyTax Portal?
• Check via Status MyTax in the MyTax Portal.
• The taxpayer/bidder must have the “Company Director” role in MyTax and select it before checking TCC via Status MyTax.
• Application Process Flow is available here.
What do the TCC statuses mean?
Compliant – The taxpayer/bidder meets the compliance criteria.
Non‑Compliant – The taxpayer/bidder fails to meet the compliance criteria set.
What should I do if my TCC shows “Non‑Compliant”?
Resolve the issues shown on the TCC, for example:
a. Failure to file the Income Tax Return (BNCP) – file the return(s) via e‑Filing in MyTax.
b. Outstanding income tax – settle via ByrHASiL in MyTax or request an instalment arrangement with the relevant LHDNM State Office handling your TIN.
After resolving your issues, email supporting documents to the TCC Implementation Secretariat at tcc@hasil.gov.my to enable status update of your TCC.
I just registered a business. What must I do to get a TCC?
Take the following steps:
a. Get a Tax Identification Number (TIN) via e‑Daftar in MyTax. If you do not yet have a TIN, register in the relevant portal.
b. Once you have a TIN, submit a TCC request with business registration documents attached to the TCC Implementation Secretariat at tcc@hasil.gov.my. You will be informed of any next steps after LHDNM reviews your submission.
My business was just registered but my TCC shows “Non‑Compliant” because no Income Tax Return (BNCP) was filed. What should I do?
Email your business registration documents to the TCC Implementation Secretariat at tcc@hasil.gov.my for review and further action.
Can the TCC be used for any other purpose?
No. Currently, the TCC is only issued for Government procurement applications.
How can a Procuring Officer at a Pusat Tanggungjawab (PTJ) verify the authenticity of a submitted TCC?
Use the TCC Authenticity Verification function in the MyTax mobile app, downloadable from:
a. Google Play (Android)
